Un libro que tenía en carpeta desde el año pasado para escanear. Es la traducción al español de libro de Peter Shapiro, "Turn The Beat Around" (2005). Es un excelente libro escrito por un pediodista especializado en música.

Crítica Destructiva a la Edición en Español
Como regular consumidor de libros me veo en la obligación de realizar algunos tristes y lamentables comentarios con respecto a este libro y edición, para quienes lo quieran comprar.

1) Es un libro INCOMPLETO. Si, incompleto, la edición original en inglés incluye (como todo libro y edición que se precie) un índice temático, un apartado de bibliografía y precisamente por tratarse de un libro sobre música y canciones un indice de las canciones mencionadas en el libro. Además la edición original incluye un indice temporal por año de los hechos relevantes, dado que no deja de ser un ensayo histórico. Todos, absolutamete todos los apartados descriptos incluidos en la edición original en inglés NO EXISTEN EN LA EDICION EN ESPAÑOL. Vaya uno a saber los motivos de la editorial para truncar así un libro, convirtiéndolo en una prisión de palabras sin nexo, guía o relación.

2) Es una edición minibooket. Osea el libro es de tamaño reducido para las 416 páginas que lo integran. Lo que significa que la letra también es pequeña, lo que en ocasiones obliga a forzar la vista, ya que se trata de un libro de puro texto sin una sola imágen. No resulta nada cómodo para leer y disfrutar.

3) La traducción es en demasiadas ocasiones forzada, intentando castellanizar términos y letras de canciones. Con un resultado que sinceramente en muchas ocasiones resulta un atentado al inglés, haciendo gala del spangrish o el kiwi-melon. Da la plena impresión que la traductora, Agostina Marchi sabrá mucho de inglés, pero música y letra de canciones se las llevó a marzo. Para traducir hay que traducir en sentido contextualizado y no literalmente, cosa que termina convirtiéndose en una fea costumbre.

4) El papel en el que está impreso no es de la mejor calidad.

5) La provocadora foto que ilustra la tapa no tiene créditos !. Si, sin créditos, para el fotógrafo o el artista, la habrán encontrado en internet (parece ser de una fiesta en Studio 54)?. Y después algunos chillan por el copyright y los derechos de autor.
